Conocimientos y prácticas de lactancia materna en madres de niños de 0 a 6 meses en la gestión del servicio Infantil. Puesto de Salud Príncipe de Asturias, Villa el Salvador Mayo - junio 2014

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de
lactancia materna exclusiva en madres de niños de 0 a 6 meses en la gestión del
servicio infantil del Puesto de Salud Príncipe de Asturias. Villa El Salvador Mayojunio 2014.
Métodos: Se efectuó un estudio no experimental con diseño correlacional, tipo
serie de caso prospectivo, en donde los datos se obtuvieron atreves de una
encuesta estructurada en secciones, aplicada mediante entrevista personal, se
indagó la variable independiente nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna
exclusiva y la variable dependiente práctica de lactancia materna exclusiva. Su
relación se determinó mediante la prueba chi-cuadrado de Pearson, considerando
como significativo p <0.05.
Resultados: Se muestra que las madres con un alto nivel de conocimiento
obtuvieron el 66.6% de buena práctica de lactancia materna exclusiva, mientras
que un 26.6% con bajo nivel de conocimiento tienen mala práctica y sólo el 6.6%
con bajo nivel de conocimiento tuvieron buena práctica de lactancia materna.
Conclusiones: El nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de lactancia materna exclusiva
de las madres de niños 0 a 6 meses que acudieron al puesto de salud Príncipe de
Asturias tiene relación con su práctica dando respuesta a la hipótesis, esto
constituye un objetivo el cual deberá ser utilizado por el personal de salud, en
especial enfermería a fin de afianzar mejor los conocimientos y práctica en
lactancia materna exclusiva.
