Revisión sistemática: adsorción de metales pesados en aguas contaminadas usando carbón activado

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el uso del carbón activado para
la adsorción de metales pesados en medio acuoso, a través de la influencia de diversos
métodos de activación empleado en diversas investigaciones y los parámetros
influyentes en la adsorción, así como los diferentes métodos de caracterización del
carbón activado. Para ello se utilizó una recopilación de información buscando en
bases de datos como como Science Direct y Scielo, utilizando palabras claves
teniendo como referencia el criterio de selección de la información. En las
metodologías físicas de activación del carbón se obtuvo que el tiempo de contacto más
empleado por los investigadores es de 3 h y en la metodología química el uso de
reactivo químico es el ácido fosfórico (H3PO4) y señalando que el uso de la
combinación de una activación química seguido de la activación física es la que brinda
un mejor producto final. Así también, el parámetro influyente en la adsorción de los
metales pesados en agua son el pH y el tamaño de partícula siendo el mejor un pH en
rangos de (4-6) los más empleados, esto quiere decir que la adsorción del carbón
activado llega al equilibrio en pH ácido. Por último, la caracterización del carbón
activado es más empleado con el método del Espectroscopía de infrarrojo con
Transmisión de Fourier (FTIR) siendo aplicados en un 80% de investigadores.
Recomendando aplicar nuevas técnicas de caracterización métodos de activación del
biochar.
