La presente investigación busca determinar el nivel de Conocimiento de las madres sobre alimentación complementaria y su relación con el estado nutricional del niño (a) de 6 a 12 meses de edad. Hospital Jerusalén. La Esperanza-Trujillo 2017. El diseño dicha investigación es cuantitativo descriptivo correlacional simple de corte transversal, prospectivo, donde se aplicó un cuestionario mediante encuesta para medir el nivel de conocimiento y a través de la evaluación del peso y talla del niño se determinó con las tablas de evaluación nutricional el estado nutricional del niño(a), en una muestra de 80 madres y sus niños que cumplieron con los criterios de selección. La mayoría de las madres tienen conocimiento bueno 68,8% y como mínimo el 15% deficiente. Según los resultados obtenidos en cuanto al peso para la edad encontramos que del 100% en su mayoría de los niños el 91,3% se encuentra normal y como mínimo el 8,8% presenta sobrepeso, según talla para la edad el 92,5% se encuentra normal y como mínimo el 1,3% presenta talla alta. En cuanto al peso para la talla encontramos en su mayoría el 80.0% normal y como mínimo el 2.5% presenta desnutrición. Se concluye que existe relación entre el nivel de conocimiento de las madres sobre AC y el estado nutricional del niño de 6 a 12 meses de edad, según peso/talla es altamente significativa dado el valor de p = 0.000 siendo así menor a 0.05 (significancia estándar).
