Abstract
Se evaluó el efecto antimicrobiano del extracto acuoso de allium sativum “ajo”
sobre cepas de Streptococcus pneumoniae y Streptococcus pyogenes, el cual se
midió a través de halos de inhibición mediante el método de Kirby Kauer, dando
como resultado que a concentraciones de 90 y 100 % tiene efecto antimicrobiano
contra cepas de Streptococcus pneumoniae y concentraciones de 100, 90 y 80%
tuvieron efecto antimicrobiano frente a cepas de Streptococcus pyogenes. Por
tanto, se concluye que a mayor concentración de extracto acuoso de allium
sativum “ajo” se obtiene mayor efecto antimicrobiano
