Factores asociados a la anemia por deficit de hierro en los niños de 6 meses a 5 años atendidos en el Centro de Salud la Peñita Tambogrande – Piura. 2017

Objetivo: Determinar los Factores asociados a la anemia por déficit de hierro en los niños
de 6 meses a 5 años atendidos en el Centro de salud La Peñita Tambogrande – Piura. Enero
– Junio 2017.
Metodología: Se realizó una investigación observacional, de tipo descriptiva,
retrospectiva, analítica y transversal. Con una población conformada por la totalidad de
pacientes con anemia por deficit de hierro de 6 meses a 5 años atendidos en el Centro de
salud La Peñita Tambogrande – Piura. Enero – Junio 2017. De un total de 71 pacientes, se
excluyeron 11 por complicaciones tardías y 10 por datos incompletos en la historia clínica,
por lo que, la muestra final estuvo constituida por 50 pacientes.
Resultados: De un total de 50 pacientes. El grupo etario con mayor frecuencia en las
madres fue el de 18 a 24 años con un 42% (n=21), y en los niños predomino el grupo etario
de 1 a 3 años con un 48% (n=24) de los casos. El 58% (n=29) manifestó que no ha
presentado casos de anemia en su embarazo anterior. El número de embarazos, número de
partos y periodo intergenesico no presentan asociación directa con los pacientes con
anemia por déficit de hierro, representando el 62% del total de pacientes. En cuanto a la
asociación de variables no se encontró significancia estadística para la edad, número de
partos, suplemento de hierro y parto prematuro.
Conclusiones: Hay una fuerte asociación entre los factores maternos y del niño con la
presencia de anemia por deficit de hierro en niños menores de 5 años.
