Citotoxicidad in vitro de los irrigantes endodónticos hipoclorito de sodio 5%, gluconato de clorhexidina 2% y ácido etilendiaminotetraacético 17% sobre linfocitos humanos

La presente investigación fue de tipo experimental. Se evaluó el grado de Citotoxicidad in
vitro de los irrigantes endodónticos Hipoclorito de Sodio al 5%, Gluconato de Clorhexidina
al 2% y EDTA al 17% sobre linfocitos humanos. El procedimiento consistió en la
preparación de un cultivo celular in vitro de linfocitos humanos el cuál fue expuesto a las
sustancias de los irrigantes durante un tiempo determinado (15 minutos). Una vez realizada
la experimentación se procedió a procesar la muestra hasta la obtención de láminas con las
células expuestas a las sustancias químicas. Las láminas fueron teñidas independientemente
con Giemsa, Orceína acética y azul de Cresilo. La evaluación de las láminas se realizó por
microscopía óptica. Las características celulares observadas fueron colocadas en una ficha
de recolección de datos que posteriormente fueron analizas con el paquete estadístico Spss
v.24. Los resultados demuestran que el Hipoclorito de sodio al 5%, obtuvo el mayor grado
de citotoxicidad, seguido del Gluconato de clorhexidina al 2% y, el EDTA al 17% es el
menos citotóxico. La viabilidad celular es menor en Hipoclorito de Sodio al 5%, que el
Gluconato de clorhexidina al 2% y al EDTA al 17% comparados con el grupo control. Se
concluye que la citotoxicidad del Hipoclorito de sodio al 5%, es superior a la del Gluconato
de clorhexidina al 2%, y al EDTA al 17%.
