Efectp antibacteriano in vitro del extracto alcohólico de Prosopiss pallida (ALGARROBO) sobre Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212

La presente investigación fue de tipo experimental y de corte transversal, evaluó el efecto antibacteriano del extracto alcohólico de Prosopis pallida (algarrobo) sobre Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, para ello se utilizaron diversas concentraciones del extracto desde 10 mg/mL hasta 100 mg/mL; como control positivo glutanato de clorhexidina al 2% y como control negativo alcohol al 80%.
Para evaluar el efecto antibacteriano del extracto alcohólico de Prosopis pallida se usó el método de difusión en discos donde previamente se inoculo la bacteria de Enterococcus faecaalis sobre la superficie de una placa Petri que contenía agar Muller Hinton, después se colocaron los discos embebidos con las concentraciones del extracto, incubándolas por 24 horas a 37°. Para determinar la concentración mínima inhibitoria (CMI) y la concentración mínima bactericida (CMB) se obtuvo mediante el método de microdilución en caldo.
Las concentraciones del extracto que presentaron mayor inhibición fueron 80 mg/ml y 90 mg/ml obteniendo halos de 16.00 y 16.09 mm respectivamente, y el control positivo que fue Glutanato de Clorhexidina al 2% dio un halo de inhibición de 16.9 mm. La concentración mínima inhibitoria (CMI) y la concentración mínima bactericida (CMB) fue menor a 10 mg/mL para ambos.
En esta investigación se concluye que el extracto alcohólico de Prosopis pallida sobre Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 tiene efecto antibacteriano en 80 mg/ml y 90 mg/ml similar a la clorhexidina al 2% formando un halo de inhibición de 16.9 mm.
