Asociación entre confinamiento por COVID -19 y recaída psicótica en pacientes con esquizofrenia

Objetivo: Establecer la asociación entre el confinamiento por COVID-19 y
recaída psicótica en pacientes con esquizofrenia atendidos en el Centro de Salud
Mental Comunitario Frida Alayza Cossio de Trujillo, 2020-2021.
Metodología: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, correlacional. Muestreo aleatorio
simple. Se realizó una entrevista a través de una llamada telefónica al paciente
o cuidador familiar y revisión de la historia clínica para la recolección de
información de la duración del confinamiento y número de recaídas psicóticas
durante el periodo 2020-2021 y se calculó la correlación de Spearman de ambas
variables.
Resultados: Se incluyeron 64 pacientes con esquizofrenia. El 76.6% tuvo al
menos una recaída psicótica, el 48.4 % tuvieron un tiempo de confinamiento por
COVID-19 durante 3 a 6 meses. El confinamiento por COVID-19 y las recaídas
psicóticas tuvieron una correlación positiva (rho=0.370, p=0.003)
Conclusión: Existe una asociación positiva entre el confinamiento por COVID-19 y las recaídas psicóticas en pacientes con esquizofrenia.
