Eficacia sinérgica antimicrobiana de miel de Apis mellifera con vancomicina sobre Staphylococcus aureus meticilino resistente in vitro

En el presente estudio se evaluó la eficacia sinérgica antimicrobiana de la miel
de Apis mellifera con vancomicina sobre Staphylococcus aureus meticilino
resistente in vitro; considerándose 4 grupos de tratamiento: miel de Apis
mellifera, miel de Apis mellifera con vancomicina, vancomicina (control positivo)
y solución salina (control negativo), con 7 repeticiones por grupo, de acuerdo a
cada concentración. Se empleó el método de macrodilución en tubos,
obteniéndose como resultados: La Concentración Inhibitoria Mínima (CIM)
obtenida del grupo de miel de Apis mellifera fue 50 mg/ ml (proporción 2/7,
IC:95%,eficacia:28.6%), el grupo de miel de Apis mellifera con vancomicina
evidenció tener efecto sinérgico con 6.5 mg/ml (proporción 4/7, IC:95%, eficacia:
57.1%) , con valores similares a vancomicina con 6.5 mg/ml (proporción 1/7,
IC:95%, eficacia: 14.2%). Al comparar las proporciones por el Test de Fisher, se
determinó que existe significancia estadística en cuanto al efecto antimicrobiano
entre el grupo de vancomicina sola y el grupo de miel de Apis mellifera con
vancomicina sobre Staphylococcus aureus meticilino resistente in vitro.
Conclusión: La miel de Apis mellífera demostró tener eficacia sinérgica
antimicrobiana con vancomicina sobre Staphylococcus aureus meticilino
resistente, presentando la misma eficacia que la vancomicina a concentración
de 6.5 mg/ml.
