El petróleo en nuestro tiempo, puede causar problemas ambientales, viéndose afectado la
calidad de agua, ya que es un consumo considerado importante para mantener la vida.
La investigación consta del uso de dos adsorbentes naturales, constituidas por el Cabello
Humano y las Plumas de Pollos, para recuperar fuentes naturales contaminadas por
petróleo y resultados de las actividades antropogénicas e industrias. El tratamiento se
realizó en 5 tiempos (55 segundo, 2; 5; 8 y 11 minutos), determinando que las Plumas de
Pollos son más eficientes en el tiempo de 5 minutos , presentando una mayor cantidad de
petróleo adsorbido de 102.0g, teniendo en cuenta que la capacidad de sorción es de
4.78 ves más de su peso y la pérdida por escurrimiento mediante Agua con agitación de
5.35 %; mientras que del Cabello humano, fue efectivo en el tiempo de 8 minutos ,
captando una cantidad de 67.33g de petróleo, por lo que la capacidad de sorcion, es de 3.22
veces más su peso y la pérdida por escurrimiento mediante Agua con agitación de 23.08
%. Los resultados de estos productos orgánicos o llamados quitinosos, representan una
tecnología económica, además es considerado un material no útil para la sociedad, y por
consiguientes son baratos y abundantes.
