Factores socioculturales relacionados a la duración de la lactancia materna y estado nutricional en niños menores de 2 años del Centro de Salud Víctor Larco – Trujillo, 2015

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar los factores socioculturales relacionados a la duración de la lactancia materna y estado nutricional en niños menores de 2 años atendidos en el Centro de Salud Víctor Larco Trujillo - 2015. Se trabajó con una población de 100 niños menores de 2 años. Para la medición de los factores socioculturales y la duración de la lactancia materna se utilizó el cuestionario dirigido a las madres del Centro de Salud Víctor Larco y para la determinación del estado nutricional se utilizó las tablas de valoración nutricional antropométrica del Centro Nacional de Alimentación y Nutrición -Ministerio de Salud (CENAN - MINSA) para niñas y niños menores de 5 años. Los resultados mostraron madres entre 20 y 34 años (49%), convivientes (75%), con grado de instrucción secundaria (84%), con dos hijos (67%) y de ocupación su casa (57%). En 93% de los niños presentaron estado nutricional normal, con desnutrición aguda 2%, con sobrepeso 4% y obesidad 1%. En cuanto a la duración de la lactancia materna el 65% de los niños tuvo una duración de más de 6 meses, mientras que el 35% la duración de la lactancia fue de 3 a 6 meses. Se concluye que los factores socioculturales que se relacionan con la duración de la lactancia materna fueron el estado civil (p = 0,049) y la ocupación de la madre (p = 0,007). Así mismo el estado civil de la madre y la ocupación de la madre se relacionan también con el estado nutricional (p = 0,004; y p = 0,008 respectivamente) en los niños menores de 2 años del Centro de Salud Víctor Larco en el 2015.
