Comparación de la coagulación química y la electrocoagulación en la eficiencia de remoción de turbidez de agua del Río Rímac, 2016
Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, transversal y experimental; que
tiene como objetivo principal comparar tres técnicas de tratamiento para remover turbidez
en el agua el río Rímac, cuya muestra fue obtenida mediante un muestreo probabilístico
aleatorio simple: Coagulación con sulfato de aluminio, coagulación con hidroxicloruro de
aluminio y electrocoagulación con placas de aluminio. Para tal fin se hizo experimentos en
un equipo de test de jarras y un experimento de electrocoagulación dentro de un laboratorio.
Se tomó una muestra de agua de 25 litros, 5 litros para cada una de las dos primeras
pruebas y 2 litros aproximadamente para la tercera. Para conocer los niveles de turbidez
tanto inicial con finales se usó un turbidímetro perfectamente calibrado. Además se halló el
aluminio residual tanto experimental mediante la técnica de absorción atómica; como el
teórico en base a la estequiometria de los coagulantes químicos y la masa de las placas de
aluminio y la 1° ley de Faraday para la técnica de electrocoagulación. Los datos obtenidos
fueron procesados e interpretados en base a programas Excel y SPSS, usando los
estadísticos de Análisis de varianzas (ANOVA) y el Índice de correlación de Pearson, para
luego ser interpretados. Gracias al estadístico de ANOVA se probó que el promedio de las
eficiencias de al menos uno de los tres métodos analizados arroja una diferencia
significativa en la eficiencia de remoción de turbidez del agua del río Rímac respecto a la
otra u otras pruebas con un nivel de confianza del 95 %. La media más alta estuvo
relacionada con el método de electrocoagulación con un 85.18 % de remoción de turbidez,
seguido del hidroxicloruro de aluminio con 81.53 % y la menor la obtuvo el sulfato de
aluminio con 69.81 %. Sin embargo, la electrocoagulación arrojó un mayor contenido de
aluminio disuelto experimental según el análisis de absorción atómica. Respecto a la
correlación de cada uno de los métodos usados, el estadístico señala que ninguno tiene
una correlación respecto de la dosificación y densidad de corriente con la eficiencia en
remoción de turbidez. Con esto se ha cumplido satisfactoriamente con los objetivos
planeados.
